we hereby give notice to the membership of OIL
that the AGM will take place, Insha’Allah, on
Saturday 2 December 2023
2pm – 4pm
Members will receive an email with details of the meeting, including pertinent materials.
The AGM will include a keynote
address by Maheen Sayal entitled,
“Building Hope: How Individuals Can Find Meaning and
Resilience in a World Grappling with Collective Trauma.”About Maheen Sayal:
Maheen is a registered social worker and psychotherapist currently serving as a counselling faculty member at Sheridan College, where she offers mental health counselling to college students. She has chaired the Ontario College Counsellors Committee and operates Sayal Counselling and Consulting Services, a private counseling practice located in Concord. Educationally, Maheen holds an Honours BA from the University of Waterloo with distinction and an MSW from the University of Toronto, where she earned recognition through a U of T fellowship and CIHR Health award. Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development, Maheen has pursued extensive training and certifications in various therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis.
