Engaging and Empowering
Founded in June 2021, the OIL Youth Committee is a group of dedicated young individuals seeking to establish a sense of community amongst Muslim youth in the GTA. We endeavour to create an inclusive space where young voices can be heard and represented. The committee convenes in order to plan events and encourage young Muslims (ages 12-17) to meet and get involved in the community. Our goal is to engage with each other, promote acts of service, advocate for social justice and, of course, have fun.
In our first year, we hosted two events. We aim to organize one event every three months, or four events per year. Planning is done by our committee, made up of 10 youth, along with two adult mentors. Explore this page to discover more about who we are, what we do and how you can get involved.
